CHEF BROWN

Chef Daniel Brown, born in Tarrytown New York, has honed his skills working in Restaurants in New York City, Boston, Westchester and the greater Metro New York area.

Chef Dan was taught to love the TABLE, the MEAL, the TALK and the PLEASURE derived from sharing a feast with friends from Mildred, his Swedish Grandmother. Mildred one of 11 children, had polio as a youngster. She didn’t run around and play outside but she took great pleasure in her family and friends. She learned the art of the table from her mother, a recent immigrant from Sweden. She held her large, boisterous, Viking family together with love and food.

Mildred married Eddy Laird, together they became the lynch pin for both families. They lived in the blue collar section of Tarrytown New York on the Hudson River. Since the family was so numerous and large, Eddy set up a ping pong table in the dinning room for all to sit around. Sundays often saw more than twenty at the table.
